"February" Layout Class...

Supplies needed:
Fancy Pants – Splendid - Desire
Fancy Pants – Splendid – Splendid Title Strips
Fancy Pants – Splendid - Sophisticated
Prima – Frosty Flowers, Popsicle
Maya Road - Flower Jewels
StazOn inkpad - Black
Kaiser stamps: Memory Boxes
Heidi Swapp – Months stamps
Bazzill Kraft cardstock

Also needed:
Scraps of white cardstock
Black charcoal inkpad (optional)
Glue (I use Herma removable)
Black journaling pen (Zig Millennium)

Start by cutting your Kraft cardstock to size. I scrap in true A4 size, so I cut mine to 29,7x21 centimetres (cm). Please feel free to adapt to another layout size if you prefer. 8.5x11 or 12x12 would work great for this too.

Pick your photos. I’m using a 15x10 cm (6x4) landscape photo and a 10x7,5 portrait photo.

Glue your photos in place. My 15x10 cm photo is 5 cm from the left edge and 5 cm from the top. My 10x7,5 photo is 3,4 cm from the bottom and 3,4 cm from the right edge. Stamp your chosen “Months” stamp above the top left corner of your large photo.

Now take your patterned papers and cut out little rectangular strips. The point here is to hand-cut and not make them perfect. Keep referring to your layout and lay them out to check for size until you’re happy and have got a border all around your photos. To give you a rough guideline my rectangles are about a cm thick…sometimes a little more, and vary between approx 2-4,5 cm long.

Once you are happy with the placement of your rectangles, glue in place and outline with a black pen.

Pick two journaling stamps and stamp with black StazOn onto some scrap white cardstock. I chose the “What A Day” and “A Moment In Time” stamps.

Write your journaling with black pen over the two stamped images, cut out, chalk the edges and glue in place on the layout.

Finish off by adding a Prima flower, some Maya Road flower jewels and finally draw a rough border with rounded corners along the outside of your layout.

I hope you enjoyed my class! Wishing you lots of fun creating your own version!
