I'm so scared...

I had decided I wasn't going to blog about this. But then I sat down to do my post and it's come to a stage where I can't keep it off my mind, so...

I'm so scared. Tomorrow morning at 09:15 I have to go to the hospital for a tooth operation. I have been in a queue for nearly a year for it (yes that's a LOT of toothache!!). They are sawing off (!! - that's what they said!!) the very top part of a tooth - under the gum so they have to do some cuts in the gum straight up from the tooth. Oh, joy! NOT!! Aaaaaah!! I have done a very good job of blocking it out (being in "denial") for the last few months. But now it's tomorrow morning and I can't do it anymore. I'm SOOO scared and I feel totally miserable this afternoon as I can't keep it off my mind. Doesn't help that the nurse at the consulation told me lot of people take a week (!) off work because of the pain after the operation. Oh that's just great...

So I'm going to try and do my best to keep blogging like usual and make little projects during the days. But if I don't seem my usual happy self for the next few days you know why. If anyone knows how to stop time so tomorrow never comes...I'd be very grateful! LOL!

I'm just a random reader but I just want to tell you to not be scared! Last week I had wisdom teeth out and I can tell you I was petrified but when I got to the dentist, I was made to feel so comfortable by the staff and they did what they had to do, and it was over before I knew it and I was back home. Just relax and think of nice things (new scrapbooking suppiles and so on :p) It does hurt a little bit after but you have to remember that once it's over, it's over! No more toothache for a year, and each day it will get that little bit more better. Don't be scared, it will be over before you know it :)

I visit your blog almost every day to see what you have done new. I love all the layouts and even made 5 exploding boxes after reading your directions. I also like the fact that we are in different countries but have so much in common. Try not to worry too much about your dental procedure. It will be over before you know it and then you won't have any more toothaches. My daughter had one of her wisdom teeth extracted Friday, May 4th. She had suffered with it on and off for over a year and finally decided to go ahead and have it removed. She already feels better and is glad she won't be having any more problems with it. Good luck and keep up the good work, I love it.

Love your page and your ideas. Don't worry about the dentist, not sure how it is in Great Britian but here in the states they just pump you with pain killers and it is over before you know it.

Good luck Anso. This is exactly why I ask not to be told about what is going to happen in advance of a procedure as I work myself into a big sweat. I know it's a bit late, but rescue remedy drops may help the anxiety and arnica for healing is the business. If you have time this morning e-mail or pm me liberty@localdial.com and I'll send you some arnica tablets in the post today.

I had a liver biopsy two years ago and after having a venflow put in my arm started to get anxious. The registrar came to see me and proceeded to tll me what was going to happen despite me asking him not to, after I started getting upset, he pulled the curtain around the bed and legged it!! I often say hello to him at the hospital and he remebers my name. They should listen to the patient!!

Good luck Anso, the toothache will soon be over.

Hi Anso. Remember when you wrote this post? Well, my turn has come, and tomorrow is the day. And yes, I'm scared. Just wondered how your tooth is now. Was it worth it? This tooth has given me so much trouble I'm really really hoping this is the end of all the pain and infections. Anyway, I think I'll start on the painkillers now, so I've built up a good threshold by tomorrow afternoon, lol.
Just off to get up to date with the rest of your blog.
